Michael Jones Joins McWane as the New Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications

We are pleased to announce that Michael Jones has joined McWane as Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communications effective today.
Michael brings more than thirty years of experience in internal and external communication, media relations, corporate messaging and public relations. He has worked in a variety of industries and has developed and executed multiple strategic campaigns aimed at strengthening corporate branding with all stakeholders of an organization. Michael earned a BA degree in Communications from Auburn University and is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America.
For the past ten years Michael has led communication efforts at the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation. He has also worked for Southern Nuclear Operating Company and Birmingham-Southern College. Early in his career he spent a decade in news media, reporting and anchoring newscasts for a network affiliate in Birmingham.
Internally, Michael will focus on designing, developing and leading the strategy to drive team-member awareness and engagement around key business priorities. He will coordinate communication campaigns and messaging for business events and announcements, and will with McWane companies to identify needs and help develop effective communications strategies.
Externally, Michael will develop relationships with the trade press and media to ensure consistent messaging and serve as the company spokesperson as needed. He will focus on developing and managing the McWane social media platforms and ensure the organization is sharing our successes.
Over the next several months Michael will be reaching out to the team to discuss the communications needs and goals as he develops our overall strategies.
