Synapse Wireless Support Commences at MSPL
June 17, 2014
In May, the McWane India Team added a new support group, Synapse Wireless Support (SWS). The team, headed by Engineering Manager Sudhir Ravindramohan, will report to Wade Oakes, Director of Overseas Engineering at Synapse Wireless in Huntsville, Alabama.
The new team has hit the ground running and they are well on their way to providing support on several projects. Currently the focus of the team is providing user interface design for web and mobile applications, software development, and quality analysis for Synapse.
Brent Dix, Vice President for Engineering at Synapse said, “I really appreciate the excellent work the SWS team has done to date and look forward to leveraging their talents further and building our capacity in Coimbatore”.
On Friday, June 6, the SWS team celebrated the completion of their first development effort by taking a trip to the beautiful Tamara Resort in Coimbatore. The trip provided an opportunity to get to know one another better as well as to participate in team building activities. In route to the resort, the team also visited the ancient Perur Patteeswarar Temple believed to date back to 1200 AD.
The SWS team was recently formed in Coimbatore to service the growing needs of Synapse Wireless. Synapse Wireless, a division of McWane, focuses on connecting machines to the internet by providing intelligent, wireless control and monitoring technology based upon their SNAP network operating system. Synapse was drawn to Coimbatore out of MSPL’s excellent relationship with the city of Coimbatore, and by the large number of graduates produced by the city every year.
The SWS team is a division of McWane Services Private Limited (MSPL). MSPL provides support to all McWane divisions in the areas of Product Design, Development, Material Take-offs, Project Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality Control, 24/7 help desk, and Information Technology. MSPL is led by Group Vice-President Kumaraswamy Shanmugham who provides administrative support and ensures all local rules and regulations are met.
During the retreat and apart from the beautiful scenery and lunch, the team performed several team building exercises in an effort to get to know one another better. Wade Oakes, who traveled to Coimbatore for this event, said, “These team building activities are excellent. The SWS co-workers sit side-by-side every weekday and discuss their work activities, but don't often exchange non-work related information. That is why these exercises are so important to team building. Without them, it is difficult to form the bonds that truly make a great team.” Oakes also noted how quickly this group came together, “This team has really come together in a short period of time. I could not have asked more from them in the short period of time they have been together”.
Apart from Wade and Sudhir, Members of the team include Jeyachandran MP, Vijayanand VP, Thinesh Babu, Arunkumar Nallasamy, and Naem Akthar all of whom are highly skilled professionals.
