TIP #24 NEW HOSE STRAP AND CLIP ASSEMBLY In
our August 1997 Progress Report we advised you that we had begun installing a
new, improved hose strap-and-clip assembly on Model A456 10 lb. ABC extinguishers.
We are now phasing this strap-and-clip into production on all hand portable extinguishers
with a hose assembly. The change was made to provide you with an inexpensive,
easy "no tools" field replacement which will fit any diameter extinguisher
cylinder. There are three separate strap and clip assemblies:

The strap-and-clip
assemblies are a sturdy high density polyethylene plastic with a ratchet locking
device built into the hose clip. The clip holds the hose securely and has an excellent
"memory", returning to its original shape if crushed or bent in service.
