Stanford students tour AB&I Foundry
May 6, 2019
AB&I hosted students from Stanford University on May 1st as part of an advanced sandcasting course with an emphasis in design and manufacturing. They wanted to understand the process from chemical composition all the way to parts inspection. AB&I General Manager Michael Lowe, Plant Manager Rich Watson, and Community Relations Director Zeydi Gutierrez met with the students to give them an overview of AB&I’s history and operations. Rich then took the students on a tour of the foundry.
The students were engaged and asked lots of good questions. The professor said, “We just wanted to send a big thank you to the AB&I team! I think the students were totally impressed with your production, business, and core values. And, thank you for the pans - you all are always so generous.”
