Tyler Union team members look forward to volunteering their time every year at the Earth Day event sponsored by the Calhoun County Exchange Program.  The event is designed to get kids off the couch and interested in the great outdoors.  Around nine hundred local 4th graders attended this year’s event.

Volunteers Kathy Knight, Amanda Thrasher, Sara Tongsuvone, Renea McGathy, Chris Hyche, Ajay Roy, Malcolm Morris, Jerome McQueen, Mark Vess and April Pearson taught rope and water safety, fun ways for kids to get up and get moving using hula hoops, Frisbees and jump ropes, the importance of recycling and several other outdoor activities.

Jerome McQueen also explained how Tyler Union products play an important role in getting clean water to homes, businesses, hospitals, etc.  It was an exhausting few days, but everyone had a great time in the great outdoors of Calhoun County.
